IVY

DREYER-GOLDMAN, MSW, CSWA, CEC

Welcome! I provide compassionate, creative, and collaborative therapy focused to individuals, but primarily on children ages 5 through 11 experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. I do this through interactive play in a play room, holding the space for the child to move through their thoughts and feelings at a pace and process that works for them. I utilize trauma-informed care with a “Rogerian” person-center approach focusing on the child’s personal strengths, hopes, dreams, and desires to help them develop insight about themselves and create lasting change that will enhance their Lives.

When engaging with children and the family/parent, I create a safe place to work through emotions and create a plan that meets the family’s/parent’s goals for their desired outcomes. Family and parent therapy supports people individually as well as families in navigating through difficult situations in their lives. Parents need to be very involved in the therapeutic process for change to occur. I will meet you wherever you are in that process and we will start there!
